pulsFOG sponsoring Andreas Pleines for the IRONMAN Wiesbaden // Germany

With offices located in many continents around the world, we at pulsFOG look for unique opportunities to stay active in our local and regional communities.

This year, we are sponsoring our own Andreas Pleines in the IRONMAN 70.3 European Championship in Wiesbaden, Germany. This event, taking place August 11, 2013, is one of a series of triathlon races organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC).

The Wiesbaden IRONMAN 70.3 competition is the only European qualification race for the world renowned IRONMAN World Championship held annually in Hawaii. The "70.3" refers to the total distance in miles (113.0 km) covered in the race, consisting of a 1.2-mile (1.9 km) swim, a 56-mile (90 km) bike ride, and a 13.1-mile (21.1 km) run. The competition is entirely outdoors and the athletes are constantly subject to unpredictable environmental challenges from Mother Nature. The time needed by an athlete to complete a 70.3 distance event varies from race to race and can be influenced greatly by external factors, including the weather and course conditions, terrain and the total elevation gained and lost on the course. By no means is this an easy feat!
